It is the area in charge of preventing any disease in the oral environment, through periodic examinations, studying the microorganisms and the habits of the patient within the oral cavity.
The patient must go to consultation every 6 months so that we can see if the patient has good hygiene habits, if not, we take care of motivating them through teaching.
Routine Dental Cleaning
This is the treatment that is most performed in the consultation on a daily basis and belongs to preventive dentistry as it prevents cavities, gingivitis or periodontal disease.
This technique is used to eliminate bacterial plaque and substances that have been calcified due to the mineral deposit of saliva, which is attached to the tooth and cannot be removed with the usual brushing technique, so the patient must go to the consultation to perform this procedure.
Control visits or dental prophylaxis should be done 2 to 3 times a year depending on each case.
Oral Hygiene Instructions
We teach our patients to identify dental plaque, which is that sticky, transparent or yellowish film that is attached to the teeth but can be removed with a good tooth brushing technique and dental floss.
Pit and Fissure Sealants
Pit and fissure sealants represent one of the most effective preventive interventions in dentistry, trying to prevent tooth decay. These are applied to the occlusal surface of the molars and premolars, that due to their irregular anatomy (depressions) are susceptible to the accumulation of food debris, inducing cavities. These materials work by eliminating these irregularities and avoiding bacterial adhesion, facilitating dental hygiene.
Oral Rehabilitation
Oral rehabilitation is that area that includes procedures aimed at restoring oral function and its aesthetic appearance; In other words, it is the specialty of Dentistry that is responsible for achieving oral harmony in patients.
Its objective is to restore health, aesthetics and function for those patients who present pathologies such as cavities, absence or loss of teeth, dentoalveolar trauma or dental alterations.
Oral rehabilitation integrally combines the areas of fixed prosthesis, removable prosthesis, operative, occlusion and dental implant. The rehabilitator always works in a multidisciplinary way, meaning, he or she works in conjunction with the orthodontist, periodontist and endodontist.
This treatment consists of a comprehensive diagnosis to define the treatment plan. At the end of this phase, the dentist must make a personalized treatment plan.
The dentist will have to instruct the patient about how to adjust his daily Oral behaviors and habits. Then, biological problems are treated, such as cavities and infections, and functional problems, bites, and jaw position are then resolved. Finally, the pieces that have been lost are replaced with permanent prostheses.
